The Dean of the Faculty

Oleksiy A. Gromovyy

Candidate of science, senior lecturer. In 1995 he graduated from the Zhytomyr Institute of Engineering and Technology in the field of “Metal Cutting Machines and Instruments” and acquired a profession of Mechanical Engineer.

From 1995 till 1998 he attended postgraduate studies at the Zhytomyr Institute of Engineering and Technology and in 2000 he defended a thesis and received the degree of candidate of science. The topic of the thesis is “Finishing Oblique-Angled Junk Bits Working out with Combined Cutting Schemes”.

Oleksiy A. Gromovy has 28 publications; among them 26 are of scientific and 2 are of educative-methodological directions. At present he teaches such disciplines as “Information Science”, “Computer Design and Simulation”.

The Information about the Faculty

The faculty which is known now as the Computer-Integrated Technologies, Mechatronics and Robotics starts its history from the Zhytomyr General-Technical Faculty of KPI. It began the training for the fields of knowledge which now compose the faculty backbone. In 1960s, the first classes, teaching staff and faculty departments started their formation. Great work was done as to create laboratory basis and educational - methodological provision.

The training started with only one specialization – 0501 “Technology of Machine Building, Metal Cutting Machines and Instruments”. For this specialization the first admission of an extramural form of study in 1967 and of a full time form of study in 1969 was organized. The first full time admission comprised 50 students.

During all the period of the faculty life thousands of mechanical engineers have graduated. Among the graduates of the first full time graduating class are the rector of ZSTU, prof., doctor of science Melnychuk P.P.; vice-rector of ZSTU, associate professor, candidate of science Vygovsky G.M.; associate professor, candidate of sciences Yumashev V.E.; associate professor Yanovsky V.A.; the director of public corporation “Vibroseparator” - Pastushenko M.G.; the director of public corporation “Verstatuniversalmash” - Gnelitsa P.K. Among the graduates of the second full time class is the Dean of the Faculty of Computer and Information Technologies, associate professor, candidate of science Kyrylovych V.A. Among the graduates of the third full time graduating class is the head of the Department of Automobile and Mechanics of Technical Systems prof., doctor of science Grabar I.G. This list can be continued. Every graduating class presents a great deal of people who became highly qualified professionals in industry, science and management. Today our national economy demands our graduates. The graduates of the last years work at industrial enterprises, automobile corporations, in banking system, scientific establishments in Zhytomyr, Kyiv and other cities of Ukraine.

At present the faculty conducts the training of bachelor degree in such directions as “Applied Mechanics”; “Industrial Engineering”, “Automobiles and Transport Technologies”, “Automation and Computer-Integrated Technologies”, “Metrology and Information and Measurement Technology”; master degree in “Applied Mechanics”; “Industrial Engineering”, “Automobiles and Transport Technologies”, “Automation and Computer-Integrated Technologies”. There is a postgraduate course in the fields of “Technology of Machine Building”, “Machining, Machine-Tools and Instruments”, “Dynamic and Machine Capacity”, “Exploitation and Transport Facility Repairing”, and doctoral studies in “Technology of Machine Building”, “Machining, Machine-Tools and Instruments” at the faculty.

Structure of the Faculty

Today, the organizational structure of the Faculty of Computer-Integrated Technologies, Mechatronics and Robotics is represented by six departments, five of graduate students.
