- The Department of Geotechnologies named after Professor Bakka M.T. was founded in 1996 as the Department of Geotechnologies and Stone Working. In 1998 it was reorganized into the Department of Geotechnologies and Industrial Ecology. In 2007 it was reorganized into the Department of Geotechnologies named after Professor Bakka. M.T. The head of the Department is Candidate of technical sciences, associate professor Kalchuk S.V. The Department is licensed to award Bachelor’s in “"Mining", Specialist’s and Master’s degrees in speciality “Development of mineral deposits”. Besides, the Department carries out educational activity at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, the Faculty of Information-Computer Technologies, the Faculty of Economics and Management and the Institute of Accounting and Finance.
- The Department of Mine Surveying was founded in 2007 by separation from the Department of Geotechnologies named after Professor Bakka M.T. The head of the Department of Mine Surveying is the Doctor of technical sciences, Professor Nazarenko V.O. The Department provides training leading to the degrees of Bachelor in “Mining” and Specialist in speciality “Mine surveying”.
- The Department of Ecology was founded in 2004 as an important structural element of the Faculty of Mining and Ecology. Since 2008 the Department has been a profile one. The head of the Department is the Doctor of Agricultural sciences, Professor Krasnov V.P. The Department is licensed to award Bachelor’s by the direction “Ecology, environmental protection and balanced environmental management”, Specialist’s and Master’s degrees in speciality “Ecology and environmental protection”.
- The Department of Physical Education as a independent unit was founded in 1980. Head of the Department of Physical Education Zhytomyr State Technological University is Grygoriy Borisovich Zasik, Judge national category basketball, basketball federation president Zhytomyr. The sport life of the university is saturated, because only physically healthy students and teachers can ensure the successful implementation of the tasks facing the many thousands of university staff.
